Curves of Sunbury donates food to BWFWS

Curves of Sunbury collected 1,700 pounds of food and household items for Big Walnut Friends Who Share during the Annual Curves Food Drive to benefit local food banks. Each year for the past 10 years, Curves of Sunbury has offered local residents the opportunity to contribute food and other household items to the Big Walnut Friends Who Share Food Pantry. During the month of March, Curves of Sunbury participates in the Annual Curves Food Drive to benefit local food banks.
With a theme of “Good for your body and your soul”, this year’s drive encouraged Curves members to feel doubly good about themselves as they made time to exercise for good health and took time to help others in the community with a donation of nutritious food.
“The Curves Food Drive is always exciting,” said Joann Hingsbergen, owner of the Sunbury Curves, located at 20 South Vernon Street. “We really appreciate all our ladies helping bring donations in for Big Walnut Friends Who Share, to stock up their food pantry for part of the year. This food goes to help a lot of people in the community who are in need, and our ladies are always very generous.”
BWFWS board president Larry Tornes stopped at Curves last Saturday to load the donated items in a pickup truck to deliver to the Friends Who Share store.
“We certainly appreciate Sunbury Curves commitment to Big Walnut Friends Who Share,” Tornes said. “This community has been tremendous with the contributions they give to us.”
