Fire Fund set up for area family following trailer fire

Area fam­ily needs your help.

On the morn­ing of Good Fri­day, this Big Wal­nut fam­ily of six, a sin­gle Mom and five chil­dren, found them­selves home­less due to a sud­den tragic fire. In a mat­ter of 12 min­utes they lost everything!

This mother of five is cur­rently work­ing at a day­care facil­ity on Sun­bury Road and attend­ing Franklin Uni­ver­sity, while car­ing for her five chil­dren, 21-month-old twins, a 6-year-old, an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old.

The first and most imme­di­ate need is hous­ing. The chil­dren are cur­rently in the Big Wal­nut School Dis­trict and the first choice is to keep the chil­dren in that dis­trict. Sec­ond choice would be the Delaware City School dis­trict. Third choice would be another area. If any­one is aware of a three– to four-bedroom apart­ment or home for rent at a very rea­son­able rate, or know a real­tor or con­tact with avail­able rentals, please con­tact: < firefundforfive@hotmail.com .

Once the fam­ily has found suit­able hous­ing, its will then need fur­nish­ings and house­hold goods. If you have items, please save them, or if they can­not be stored, they can be picked up. Use the same con­tact as above to let us know what you have and to make arrangements.

The fam­ily has received some cloth­ing, but more will be needed. Please see the fol­low­ing sizes:

• 21-month-old twins: one boy, one girl – size 24-month; shoe size 6 ½ toddler;

• 6-year-old boy: size 7–8 (slim); shoe size 2;

• 11-year-old boy: 10–12 (slim); shoe size 6/7;

• 14 year old girl: 11/12 (wears skinny jeans, shorts and large shirts); shoe size 10 1/2; and

• Mom is size 18, long/tall; shoe size 10.

Any dupli­cate or extra dona­tions received that the fam­ily can­not be used, will be given to Friends Who Share in Sun­bury for other fam­i­lies in need.
