2012 Big Walnut FFA Banquet ‘a huge hit’
The 2012 Big Walnut-DACC FFA Banquet “The Great Outdoors” was a huge hit with all who attended. The outdoors theme was a perfect back drop for those who were receiving awards last Saturday night from the FFA.
Highlighting the awards was the presentation of the Honorary Chapter Degree to Cheri Bregel for all of the hours she has put into helping out the FFA Chapter.
Proficiency Awards went to Ryan Piper for Beef Production, Shelby Bradford for Equine Placement, Amanda Meade for Goat Production, and to Tim Garwood for Forest Management and Home and/or Community Development. Tim and Amanda both placed in the top four at the State Level where they competed on May 3.
Leadership Awards went to freshman Kristen Hill, sophomore Kaitlyn Headlee, junior Stephanie Little and senior Nicole Bregel.
A plethora of members were recognized for their participation in contests throughout the year, including Camdon Corzatt and Katelynn Cheadle were recognized for participating in the public speaking contest; Nicole Bregel and Kaitlyn Headlee in the Job Interview contest; and Corzatt, Sarah Nelson, Stephanie Little, Maggie Lacy and Corzatt in Equine Judging.
The entire officer team was congratulated for entering the Parliamentary Procedure contest, and for their presentation in front of the Board of Education in March.
Taylor Conaway, Tim Garwood, Cody Glassford, Little, Lacy, Piper and Corzatt were congratulated for earning their State FFA Degree. Hannah Hale, Zoe Lord and Andy Garwood were recognized for earning their American FFA Degree which they will receive in October.
Finally the announcement of the 2012–13 Big Walnut DACC Officer team was announced. Little was elected President, Lacy will serve as Vice President, Hill as Secretary, Shane Hanly as Treasurer, Nelson as Reporter, Cheadle as Sentinel, Brittany Shaw as Student Advisor and Headlee as Assistant Officer.
