2012 Big Walnut FFA Banquet ‘a huge hit’

The 2012 Big Walnut-DACC FFA Ban­quet “The Great Out­doors” was a huge hit with all who attended. The out­doors theme was a per­fect back drop for those who were receiv­ing awards last Sat­ur­day night from the FFA.

High­light­ing the awards was the pre­sen­ta­tion of the Hon­orary Chap­ter Degree to Cheri Bregel for all of the hours she has put into help­ing out the FFA Chapter.

Pro­fi­ciency Awards went to Ryan Piper for Beef Pro­duc­tion, Shelby Brad­ford for Equine Place­ment, Amanda Meade for Goat Pro­duc­tion, and to Tim Gar­wood for For­est Man­age­ment and Home and/or Com­mu­nity Devel­op­ment. Tim and Amanda both placed in the top four at the State Level where they com­peted on May 3.

Lead­er­ship Awards went to fresh­man Kris­ten Hill, sopho­more Kait­lyn Headlee, junior Stephanie Lit­tle and senior Nicole Bregel.

A plethora of mem­bers were rec­og­nized for their par­tic­i­pa­tion in con­tests through­out the year, includ­ing Cam­don Corzatt and Kate­lynn Chea­dle were rec­og­nized for par­tic­i­pat­ing in the pub­lic speak­ing con­test; Nicole Bregel and Kait­lyn Headlee in the Job Inter­view con­test; and Corzatt, Sarah Nel­son, Stephanie Lit­tle, Mag­gie Lacy and Corzatt in Equine Judging.

The entire offi­cer team was con­grat­u­lated for enter­ing the Par­lia­men­tary Pro­ce­dure con­test, and for their pre­sen­ta­tion in front of the Board of Edu­ca­tion in March.

Tay­lor Conaway, Tim Gar­wood, Cody Glass­ford, Lit­tle, Lacy, Piper and Corzatt were con­grat­u­lated for earn­ing their State FFA Degree. Han­nah Hale, Zoe Lord and Andy Gar­wood were rec­og­nized for earn­ing their Amer­i­can FFA Degree which they will receive in October.

Finally the announce­ment of the 2012–13 Big Wal­nut DACC Offi­cer team was announced. Lit­tle was elected Pres­i­dent, Lacy will serve as Vice Pres­i­dent, Hill as Sec­re­tary, Shane Hanly as Trea­surer, Nel­son as Reporter, Chea­dle as Sen­tinel, Brit­tany Shaw as Stu­dent Advi­sor and Headlee as Assis­tant Officer.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to all the award recip­i­ents and to the new offi­cer team.
