Carl E. Cocklin
Carl E. Cocklin, 71, Sunbury, died Friday morning May 25, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on September 21, 1940, in Columbus to Charles and June (Wheeler) Cocklin. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran, a member of Sparrow Lodge No. 400 F&AM, bridge club and Unity Spiritual Center in Delaware.
Carl loved his grandchildren and enjoyed every minute spent with them. Carl was a fun-loving, very caring, loving person and a great inspiration to the people whose lives he touched. He was always upbeat in his actions and had survived many illnesses. Carl loved to fish and enjoyed spending time fishing in Ocean Isle, North Carolina and in the bays of the Gulf of Mexico.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Combs, whom he married on May 28, 1968 in Cambridge, Ohio; mother, June Cocklin of Marysville; daughter, Kelly Zakrajsek of Delaware; grandchildren, Asher and Matty; brother, Paul (Dawn) of Winchester, Ohio; sisters, Janet Graham and June Cocklin, both of Marysville; son-in-law, Jim Zakrajsek of Sunbury; loving nieces and nephews; special friends, Rick Ward and Jim Caudill; plus many other wonderful people.
Preceded in death by his father, Charles Cocklin; and his sister, Juanita Cocklin.
Memorial services will be held at the Condit Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 11 a.m. with The Reverends Robin Volker and John Zuercher officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
