Donald (Don) Eugene Brown
Donald (Don) Eugene Brown, 78, Westerville, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Kobacker House in Columbus of cancer. Born January 12, 1934, in Powell, to the late Carl and Melba (Brentlinger) Brown, he was the oldest of five siblings.
He was a resident of Delaware County and a 1952 graduate of Hyatts High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was employed by B.F. Goodrich for 33 years, retiring in 1986.
Don loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Harlem Road United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering at the church, tending fruit trees, gardening, hunting, golfing and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janeene (Rogers) Brown; a daughter, Pam J. (Jerry) Howell of Marietta, Georgia; son, Roger D. (Joy) Brown of Centerburg; daughter, Karen S. (Mike) Grove of Columbus; and by a daughter, Tricia A. (Dave) Tanis of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. Don had nine grandchildren: Heather and Stacy Brown; Steven and Kelli Grove; Justin and Jarrod Howell; and Ben, Hannah and Peter Tanis.
Don is also survived by his brothers, Marvin (Beth) Brown of Marysville and Richard (Lois) Brown of Cardington; a sister, Sharon (Phil) Hall of Delaware; and by a sister-in-law, Marlene Rogers of Elyria.
Visitation will be held today (Thursday, May 3, 2012) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harlem Road United Methodist Church, 5520 Harlem Road, Galena, Ohio 43021. A Memorial Service will be held at the same location on Friday (May 4, 2012) at 10 a.m. with Pastor Bud Leskovac officiating.
Interment will follow in Fancher Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to his church.
