Donald (Don) Eugene Brown

Don­ald (Don) Eugene Brown, 78, West­er­ville, died Sun­day, April 29, 2012, at the Kobacker House in Colum­bus of can­cer. Born Jan­u­ary 12, 1934, in Pow­ell, to the late Carl and Melba (Brentlinger) Brown, he was the old­est of five siblings.

He was a res­i­dent of Delaware County and a 1952 grad­u­ate of Hyatts High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was employed by B.F. Goodrich for 33 years, retir­ing in 1986.

Don loved spend­ing time with his fam­ily. He was a mem­ber of Harlem Road United Methodist Church and enjoyed vol­un­teer­ing at the church, tend­ing fruit trees, gar­den­ing, hunt­ing, golf­ing and fishing.

He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 52 years, Janeene (Rogers) Brown; a daugh­ter, Pam J. (Jerry) How­ell of Mari­etta, Geor­gia; son, Roger D. (Joy) Brown of Cen­ter­burg; daugh­ter, Karen S. (Mike) Grove of Colum­bus; and by a daugh­ter, Tri­cia A. (Dave) Tanis of Dills­burg, Penn­syl­va­nia. Don had nine grand­chil­dren: Heather and Stacy Brown; Steven and Kelli Grove; Justin and Jar­rod How­ell; and Ben, Han­nah and Peter Tanis.

Don is also sur­vived by his broth­ers, Mar­vin (Beth) Brown of Marysville and Richard (Lois) Brown of Card­ing­ton; a sis­ter, Sharon (Phil) Hall of Delaware; and by a sister-in-law, Mar­lene Rogers of Elyria.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held today (Thurs­day, May 3, 2012) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harlem Road United Methodist Church, 5520 Harlem Road, Galena, Ohio 43021. A Memo­r­ial Ser­vice will be held at the same loca­tion on Fri­day (May 4, 2012) at 10 a.m. with Pas­tor Bud Lesko­vac officiating.

Inter­ment will fol­low in Fancher Cemetery.

In lieu of flow­ers memo­r­ial con­tri­bu­tions may be made to his church.
