BWEF seeking golf foursomes for annual Golf Extravaganza

Each year in early August, mem­bers of the Big Wal­nut Edu­ca­tion Foun­da­tion board of direc­tors hold a golf out­ing to raise schol­ar­ship funds to dis­trib­ute to Big Wal­nut area grad­u­at­ing seniors and for­mer Big Wal­nut stu­dents already enrolled in col­lege. That golf out­ing is, in real­ity, two sep­a­rate events.

The annual golf out­ing fundraiser fea­tures golf and din­ner. The sec­ond fundraiser is the foundation’s Annual Golf Extrav­a­ganza; a raf­fle for three­somes and four­somes at top cen­tral Ohio golf courses.

The Golf Extrav­a­ganza raf­fle takes place dur­ing the golf out­ing din­ner, but ticket hold­ers do not need to be present to win. A lim­ited num­ber of raf­fle tick­ets are sold, so ticket hold­ers have a good chance of win­ning a date on select golf courses they might not nor­mally experience.

This year’s Annual Big Wal­nut Edu­ca­tion Foun­da­tion Golf Out­ing and Golf Extrav­a­ganza Draw­ing are sched­uled for Mon­day, August 6, at Rat­tlesnake Ridge Golf Club, 1 Rat­tlesnake Drive, Sunbury.

The Golf Out­ing will begin 1 p.m. with a four-person shot­gun start for­mat. The cost is $500 per four­some, lunch and din­ner included.

A vol­un­teer Board of Trustees gov­erns the foun­da­tion; and every dol­lar earned dur­ing the golf out­ing and dur­ing other edu­ca­tion foun­da­tion fundrais­ing efforts is applied to the foundation’s schol­ar­ships; there are no admin­is­tra­tive costs involved.
