Self Defense Class for Kids returns to Sunbury UMC
Sunbury United Methodist Church is again offering a great opportunity for children August 13 through 17. A national program called radKIDS, a personal empowerment safety education program for children ages 8 to 11, teaches several principles of self-defense and tactics for children to use against various types of assaults. This is a 10-hour course of instruction and the goal is to reduce a child’s risk of becoming a victim of crime. There is a minimal enrollment fee of $10, which will provide for a T-shirt, wristband and handbook. Scholarships are available upon request; no child will be turned away due to a family’s inability to pay.
Course dates are Monday, August 13 through Friday, August 17 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the church multipurpose room.
The enrollment and fee deadline is noon Sunday August 5, 2012. and is limited to 15 students.
