Ronald E. Murphy
Ronald E. Murphy, 48, Sunbury, passed away at his residence on Friday, July 13, 2012, due to heart disease.
He was born on September 13, 1963, in Columbus to Virgil L. and the late Carol D. (Brunty) Murphy. He married bride Paula (Fugate) Murphy on June 14, 1980.
Ron was employed with Crane Plastics of Columbus for 20 years with 15 years of perfect attendance.
He attended Genoa Baptist Church of Westerville and prior to that The Potter’s House Church of God. Previously he traveled in his family’s Southern Gospel band, The Singing Murphys, playing drums to share the Gospel of Jesus. He valued all of his family and expressed his love through works of kindness whenever called upon. He enjoyed bluegrass music and attending concerts with friends and family.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by son Ronald E. Murphy Jr., daughter Jennifer (Joe) Verhoff, grandchildren Coen Gregory and Griffin Ronald Verhoff, brothers Rick (Debbie) and Randy (Christy) Murphy, sisters Karen Murphy and Sharon (Chris) Hildenbrand, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Monday (July 16, 2012) and burial took place at Green Mound Cemetery in Kilbourne. Arrangements entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.
