Ronald E. Murphy

Ronald E. Mur­phy, 48, Sun­bury, passed away at his res­i­dence on Fri­day, July 13, 2012, due to heart disease.

He was born on Sep­tem­ber 13, 1963, in Colum­bus to Vir­gil L. and the late Carol D. (Brunty) Mur­phy. He mar­ried bride Paula (Fugate) Mur­phy on June 14, 1980.

Ron was employed with Crane Plas­tics of Colum­bus for 20 years with 15 years of per­fect attendance.

He attended Genoa Bap­tist Church of West­er­ville and prior to that The Potter’s House Church of God. Pre­vi­ously he trav­eled in his family’s South­ern Gospel band, The Singing Mur­phys, play­ing drums to share the Gospel of Jesus. He val­ued all of his fam­ily and expressed his love through works of kind­ness when­ever called upon. He enjoyed blue­grass music and attend­ing con­certs with friends and family.

In addi­tion to his wife and father, he is sur­vived by son Ronald E. Mur­phy Jr., daugh­ter Jen­nifer (Joe) Ver­hoff, grand­chil­dren Coen Gre­gory and Grif­fin Ronald Ver­hoff, broth­ers Rick (Deb­bie) and Randy (Christy) Mur­phy, sis­ters Karen Mur­phy and Sharon (Chris) Hilden­brand, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Ser­vices were held on Mon­day (July 16, 2012) and bur­ial took place at Green Mound Ceme­tery in Kil­bourne. Arrange­ments entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.
