Senior Citizens Inc. plans Farmers’ Market, Grandparents Day at COA
Senior Citizens Inc. of Delaware County and the Council for Older Adults are pleased to host the Second Farmers’ Market and Grandparents Day picnic. Located at the Center for Older Adults, 800 Cheshire Road in Delaware, this event, sponsored by Interim HealthCare, will be held on Thursday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to the public.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their grandchildren. Special craft activities for grandparents and grandchildren will be provided for a nominal fee. A hot dog or hamburger lunch will be available for purchase. A special kids meal will also be available. A Cake Walk will take place hourly beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Preservation Parks will provide an “up close and personal encounter with Ohio’s native reptiles and amphibians.” The Columbus Zoo will bring their Senior Safari animal encounters, and Alum Creek Dog Park will bring puppies.
The farmers’ market, from 12 noon to 2 p.m., will feature vendors with fresh produce and other market items. Senior Farmers Market Vouchers and cash will be accepted.
Kids (and adults) will be able to have their photos taken with the mascots. Live music will be provided by The Elastic Band. Admission and parking are free. For more details, call Senior Citizen’s Inc. of Delaware County at 740–369-5133.
