Senior Citizens Inc. plans Farmers’ Market, Grandparents Day at COA

Senior Cit­i­zens Inc. of Delaware County and the Coun­cil for Older Adults are pleased to host the Sec­ond Farm­ers’ Mar­ket and Grand­par­ents Day pic­nic. Located at the Cen­ter for Older Adults, 800 Cheshire Road in Delaware, this event, spon­sored by Interim Health­Care, will be held on Thurs­day, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to the public.

Atten­dees are encour­aged to bring their grand­chil­dren. Spe­cial craft activ­i­ties for grand­par­ents and grand­chil­dren will be pro­vided for a nom­i­nal fee. A hot dog or ham­burger lunch will be avail­able for pur­chase. A spe­cial kids meal will also be avail­able. A Cake Walk will take place hourly begin­ning at 10:30 a.m.

Preser­va­tion Parks will pro­vide an “up close and per­sonal encounter with Ohio’s native rep­tiles and amphib­ians.” The Colum­bus Zoo will bring their Senior Safari ani­mal encoun­ters, and Alum Creek Dog Park will bring puppies.

The farm­ers’ mar­ket, from 12 noon to 2 p.m., will fea­ture ven­dors with fresh pro­duce and other mar­ket items. Senior Farm­ers Mar­ket Vouch­ers and cash will be accepted.

Kids (and adults) will be able to have their pho­tos taken with the mas­cots. Live music will be pro­vided by The Elas­tic Band. Admis­sion and park­ing are free. For more details, call Senior Citizen’s Inc. of Delaware County at 740–369-5133.
