BW football announces 2012 schedule change

Big Wal­nut, which opens its 2012 foot­ball sea­son on Fri­day, August 24, host­ing West­er­ville Cen­tral at 7:30 p.m. on Wall of Fame Night, has announced a change in its schedule.

On Fri­day, Sep­tem­ber 7, the Golden Eagles will enter­tain Cleve­land Collinwood, not St. Jean de Bre­beuf, on Senior Par­ent Night. Kick­off is slated for 6:30 p.m.

The St. Jean de Bre­beuf was on strike and, as a result, the school’s coach­ing staff quit and the school will not field a team this season.

Big Wal­nut will also host rival Olen­tangy in its Ohio Cap­i­tal Con­fer­ence Cap­i­tal Divi­sion opener on Fri­day, Sep­tem­ber 14; Mount Ver­non on Home­com­ing Fri­day, Octo­ber 5; and Olen­tangy Orange on Fri­day, Octo­ber 19.

Road games are Fri­day, August 31, at Chill­i­cothe, Fri­day, August 21, at Delaware Hayes; Fri­day, August 28, at Watkins Memo­r­ial; Fri­day, Octo­ber 12, at New Albany; and Fri­day, Octo­ber 26, at Franklin Heights.

The Golden Eagles, who scrim­maged Dublin Scioto on Tues­day at Dublin, will also scrim­mage Colum­bus St. Charles Sat­ur­day at 10 a.m. in Colum­bus and Teays Val­ley on Fri­day, August 17 at 7 p.m. at Ashville.
