Calling all Kids! SUMC Rally Day for Sunday School set for Aug. 19
Sunbury United Methodist Church (SUMC) is hosting its annual Rally Day on Sunday, August 19, 2012, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. This is SUMC’s yearly kick off to celebrate the beginning of its Crossroads Sunday School.
Crossroads is the SUMC Christian education program where children three years old (potty trained) through sixth grade learn Biblical lessons through art, science, food, fun, music, games and much more. We offer many fun ways to learn about God’s amazing love! Each class has a designated room for children to attend each week with teachers and volunteers sharing a lesson prepared just for them. Crossroads does not meet on any fifth Sunday of the month so that all family members may enjoy family worship together.
Rally Day will take place in the SUMC dining room and multipurpose room where Crossroads volunteers will provide refreshments, games and activities for the kids. Additionally, parents and children will meet their Crossroads Sunday School teachers and receive information on upcoming children’s ministries, such as like Camp Kingdom Come, Youth Club, Youth Choir and Cherub Choir. Parents are encouraged to participate.
This year, SUMC is introducing Internet Bible studies for the fifth and sixth grade children. All online activity will be strictly monitored while students learn safe places to visit on the Internet. The children will gain access to look up bible scripture, play Bible games and trivia as well as inspirational apps to apply to all of their high tech toys.
The regular Crossroads schedule will resume on Sunday, September 2, 2012, from 9:45–10:45 a.m.
Be sure to attend so your child will not miss any of the fun at the SUMC Rally Day!
