Calling all Kids! SUMC Rally Day for Sunday School set for Aug. 19

Sun­bury United Methodist Church (SUMC) is host­ing its annual Rally Day on Sun­day, August 19, 2012, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. This is SUMC’s yearly kick off to cel­e­brate the begin­ning of its Cross­roads Sun­day School.

Cross­roads is the SUMC Chris­t­ian edu­ca­tion pro­gram where chil­dren three years old (potty trained) through sixth grade learn Bib­li­cal lessons through art, sci­ence, food, fun, music, games and much more. We offer many fun ways to learn about God’s amaz­ing love! Each class has a des­ig­nated room for chil­dren to attend each week with teach­ers and vol­un­teers shar­ing a les­son pre­pared just for them. Cross­roads does not meet on any fifth Sun­day of the month so that all fam­ily mem­bers may enjoy fam­ily wor­ship together.

Rally Day will take place in the SUMC din­ing room and mul­ti­pur­pose room where Cross­roads vol­un­teers will pro­vide refresh­ments, games and activ­i­ties for the kids. Addi­tion­ally, par­ents and chil­dren will meet their Cross­roads Sun­day School teach­ers and receive infor­ma­tion on upcom­ing children’s min­istries, such as like Camp King­dom Come, Youth Club, Youth Choir and Cherub Choir. Par­ents are encour­aged to participate.

This year, SUMC is intro­duc­ing Inter­net Bible stud­ies for the fifth and sixth grade chil­dren. All online activ­ity will be strictly mon­i­tored while stu­dents learn safe places to visit on the Inter­net. The chil­dren will gain access to look up bible scrip­ture, play Bible games and trivia as well as inspi­ra­tional apps to apply to all of their high tech toys.

The reg­u­lar Cross­roads sched­ule will resume on Sun­day, Sep­tem­ber 2, 2012, from 9:45–10:45 a.m.
