She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John C. Jones, whom she married on October 5, 1956. Also surviving are her daughter, Kelly Kahrmann (Kyle), and her son, Brian D. Jones (Wendy); grandsons Kory (Ariel) Kahrmann and Jonathan Kahrmann, and Kory’s step-daughters Abigail and Ava; granddaughters Noelle and Claire Jones; brother Fred Stith (Kathleen), sisters-in-law Janet Jones Esmail and Norma Jones Starbuck, and by several cousins and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend Nugget, her golden retriever. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Marty was baptized into membership of the Sunbury First Baptist Church on April 23, 1944, became a Sunday School teacher at 16 and served in many offices over the years, including Sunday School superintendent, children’s choir director and youth leader. She made 13 working and teaching mission trips to Haiti, and numerous working mission trips to Bacone College in Oklahoma which serves the Native American community.

Marty was educated in the Sunbury and Big Walnut schools, graduating in 1956. In 1980 she returned to school and became a licensed LPN, and worked for several years in local nursing homes.

Marty’s joys were fishing and watching wildlife. She spent many summers at her cottage near Whitefish Falls, Ontario, which was her second home. While there she was an active congregant at Calvary Baptist Church in Espanola.
