Charles “Chuck” M. Stone
Charles “Chuck” M. Stone, 88, Galena, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday evening August 27, 2012, surrounded by his family at his residence.
He was born on October 13, 1923, in West Jefferson, Ohio, to the late Robert and Grace Stone. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and a self employed businessman. Chuck loved to garden, growing vegetables and flowers, bowling, reading old western novels, and eating.
Chuck was good at anything he put his mind to do. Ornery and jovial Chuck was a loving and caring family man, who loved his family and would do anything for them. Chuck loved to travel and enjoyed the New England states and going out to the Western states.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen (Hale) Stone, whom he married July 16, 1956; daughters: Linda (Henry) Fasone, Cheri Wells, Sandy Adkins, Terrie Bradley and Jeanette Bradley, all of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and by five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Debbie Williamson; a brother: Clarence Stone; and by two sisters: Evie Thompson and Florence Goodyear.
Memorial services will be held in October at the Galena Cemetery and will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Sunbury.
