Friday’s traditional Homecoming Parade through Sunbury capped Big Walnut High School’s weeklong schedule of Fall Homecoming activities. The parade began 10 minutes early under a threat of rain, but the rain held off through the Homecoming ceremony where Maggie Ferguson was crowned as the 2012 Fall Homecoming Queen.

Ferguson, the daughter of Jeff and Lori Ferguson, is a member of the girls varsity soccer team. She plans to attend the University of Kentucky after high school to study Materials Engineering. Ferguson said she would also like to become a high school soccer coach.

Dominic Zitello, a member of the Big Walnut High School varsity football team, escorted Ferguson.

Carson Chatterton and Adam Shaheen escorted the two other Fall Homecoming Queen candidates, Natalie Chatterton and Ali Malik, respectively.

The remaining Fall Homecoming Court members were freshmen Sarah Hatfield and Jacob Young, sophomores Avery Kerns and Nick Guglielmi, and juniors Olivia Daggett and Micah Abrogast.

The weekend’s Homecoming activities included a Saturday evening dance at the high school.
