Papermaking Class
In conjunction with the visit by children’s book illustrator Denise Fleming in November, we are presenting this papermaking class. The illustrations in Denise Fleming’s books are created with handmade paper. Now you too can make your own paper. Learn how in this easy and fun hands-on papermaking workshop taught by Mary Nice. You will create a bookmark or an ornament.
The class is on Tuesday, November 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This class is for teens and adults. It is FREE but you must be pre-registered in order to have enough supplies for each student. Students may provide their own bits and pieces if desired: you may bring envelopes, construction paper, seeds in seed packets, tissue paper, candy wrappers, old greeting cards, junk mail, margarine wrappers, bakery sacks and paper. Use your imagination!
Papermaking is wet and messy — dress accordingly and have FUN!
This program funded in part through an Institute of Museum and Library Services LSTA grant awarded by the State Library of Ohio.
