A Visit with Denise Fleming on November 15 at Community Library

Calde­cott Honor-winning Ohio children’s author and illus­tra­tor Denise Flem­ing will be in Sun­bury at 7 p.m. on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 15, thanks to fund­ing pro­vided in part through an Insti­tute of Museum and Library Ser­vices LSTA grant awarded by the State Library of Ohio.

While Com­mu­nity Library arranged the visit, the event will be held across the street at the Sun­bury United Methodist Church’s mul­ti­pur­pose room.

Dur­ing the evening pre­sen­ta­tion, Flem­ing will share her book The First Day of Win­ter. There will also be audi­ence par­tic­i­pa­tion, and Flem­ing will demon­strate how she cre­ates art for her titles.

A vari­ety of Fleming’s books will be for sale that evening, and she will be avail­able for sign­ing after the event. Best of all, no reg­is­tra­tion nec­es­sary, and the event is free of charge.

Denise Flem­ing was born and raised in Toledo, and is an avid paper-maker as well as a writer and illus­tra­tor of children’s books.

The Denise Flem­ing Month pro­grams at Com­mu­nity Library also includes ele­men­tary school vis­its to the library.
