Caldecott Honor-winning Ohio children’s author and illustrator Denise Fleming will be in Sunbury at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, thanks to funding provided in part through an Institute of Museum and Library Services LSTA grant awarded by the State Library of Ohio.
While Community Library arranged the visit, the event will be held across the street at the Sunbury United Methodist Church’s multipurpose room.
During the evening presentation, Fleming will share her book The First Day of Winter. There will also be audience participation, and Fleming will demonstrate how she creates art for her titles.
A variety of Fleming’s books will be for sale that evening, and she will be available for signing after the event. Best of all, no registration necessary, and the event is free of charge.
Denise Fleming was born and raised in Toledo, and is an avid paper-maker as well as a writer and illustrator of children’s books.
The Denise Fleming Month programs at Community Library also includes elementary school visits to the library.
