Hylen Souders’ Lauren Ropp honored as BW Board’s Student-Citizen of Month

Hylen Souders Elementary School’s Lauren Ropp, the daughter of Brad and Leslie Ropp, was recognized as the Big Walnut Board of Education’s Student-Citizen of the Month at Monday’s board meeting held in the Big Walnut Middle School Library.
Lauren has attended Kindergarten through fourth grade at Hylen Souders. Her academic success, model student behavior and endearing personality have been obvious in all of her four years at the school.
Mandy Bailey, who had Lauren as a student in both Kindergarten and second grade, had nothing but tremendous praise for her former student.
“Lauren is one of the most endearing, hardworking students I have had the pleasure to each and learn from in both Kindergarten and second grade,” Bailey said. “And I am not at all surprised that she of being honored as ‘Student-Citizen of the Month’.
“It has been an incredible joy watching her grow into a remarkable young lady,” Bailey continued. “She is self-motivated, energetic, giving and friendly toward everyone she meets, and she has a great sense of humor … a teacher could not ask for a better student.”
Bailey said Lauren is a perfect role model.
“Lauren is someone we can all take notes from.” she said. “Hylen Souders Elementary is very fortunate to have her as a student. I couldn’t be more proud of Lauren, and I wish her all the success in the world!”
The staff at Hylen Souders agrees that “it is an absolute pleasure having a student such as Miss Ropp in our building. We are beyond thankful for all her hard work and acknowledge without a doubt that she possesses a tremendous future ahead.”
Lauren, who has a younger sister, Morgan, plays the piano, takes dance and has played soccer. She has been selected for a major role in a Holiday performance at her church.
