Lions Tree Sale Starts Saturday; proceeds benefit Friends Who Share

Tomor­row is Black Fri­day, Sunbury’s Christ­mas on the Square is a heart­beat away and Christ­mas is just around the cor­ner. It’s time to start think­ing about buy­ing this year’s Christ­mas tree at the Sun­bury Lions Club Tree Sale on the north side of the square, where tree shop­pers can select Canaan Fir, White Pine and Scotch Pine, all rea­son­ably priced in sizes rang­ing from 6 to 10 feet.

As the hol­i­day sea­son approaches, it’s impor­tant to buy local where your dol­lars go for a wor­thy cause, help­ing friends and neigh­bors dur­ing these uncer­tain times; and, as always, prof­its from the Sun­bury Lions Christ­mas Tree Sale go to Big Wal­nut Friends Who Share.

The Lions will start sell­ing Christ­mas trees this com­ing Sat­ur­day, Novem­ber 24, at 10 a.m., so stop at the Lions shel­ter on the square for a chat with a friendly Lion and select a tree.

Sun­bury Lions will be on site to help you select and load your Christ­mas tree Mon­day through Fri­day from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sat­ur­day and Sun­day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. until all trees are sold or Christ­mas Eve.

Can’t get there when the Lions are open for busi­ness? No prob­lemo, as Arnie would say. All trees are tagged. Select a tree, pay at Molly’s Flow­ers or Evans Insur­ance, and take your tree home.

There are trees to fit any space, taste, and pocket book:

• White Pine 6–9 ft $20,

• Canaan Fir 6–8 ft $25 to $40

• Canaan Fir 8–9 ft $50

• Canaan Fir 9–10 ft $60

• Dou­glass Fir 6–9 ft $25
