Sunbury Halter & Saddle 4-H donates to Humane Society
Sunbury Halter & Saddle 4-H Club members completed their third November Community Service project on Saturday, November 17, by delivering a pickup truck load of needed articles donated by club members, their families, advisors and friends to the Humane Society of Delaware County.
Fourteen club members, parents, and advisors unloaded the donations at the Humane Society and then visited the dogs and cats that were available for adoption.
Thanks to Madison and Kerri Laughery for spearheading the project along with Frank Laughery who drove and furnished the truck to store and haul the donations. Most donated articles were brought by many club members to the club meeting on November 6 at P J’s Pizza.
The other two November projects were sending over 150 Christmas cards and letters to Friends of Our Troops for U. S. soldiers and the Veterans’ Day World War I soldier Sunbury Cemetery project.
The club’s December Community Service projects will be collecting new toys and books for the Marines Toys for Tots project and participation in the Christmas on the Square parade and dog demonstrations on the square in Sunbury.
Both projects have been done by club members for four years.
