BW splits OCC mat matches with Heights, Watkins

Big Walnut split last Thursday’s Ohio Capital Conference Capital Division triangular wrestling match with Franklin Heights and Watkins Memorial at Olentangy Orange High School.
Luke Moore’s Golden Eagles, who split an OCC tri-match with Delaware Hayes and New Albany one week earlier on Thursday, January 10, pinned a 44–24 setback on the Falcons after dropping a 57–19 decision to the Warriors.
In the Franklin Heights match Big Walnut scored wins in six weight classes. Golden Eagle victories were recorded by sophomore Donny Didion who recorded an 8–0 major decision at 113 pounds, junior RJ Martin with a 10–1 decision at 138, sophomore Tyler Satterfield who scored a fall 2 minutes, 49 seconds at 145, senior CJ Harness with a fall in 2:41 at 160, junior Alec Eisnnicher with a fall in 4:25 at 182 and junior Austin Crow who posted a fall in 2:18 at 220 pounds.
The Golden Eagles were awarded two forfeits at 152 (Austin Carr) and 170 (Evan Watkins) pounds. The 106-pound match was a double forfeit.
Against Watkins Memorial, Big Walnut scored four weight-class victories. Junior Jhordan Lang joined Eisnnicher with technical falls, Lang posting a 15–0 verdict at 182 and Eisnnicher an 18–2 win at 170 pounds. Didion, with a fall in 1:12 at 113, and Carr, with a 6–4 overtime decision at 152, completed the Golden Eagles’ scoring.
Big Walnut returns to the mats on Thursday, January 31, when they return to Olentangy Orange to take on the Pioneers in a 6 p.m. OCC Capital Division match.
