Big Walnut Middle School Student Council members are asking all student’s parents and other members of the Big Walnut community to join them and help save lives by giving blood. The middle school is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, February 15, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the BWMS Commons as part of the ARC’s Old Enough to Save Lives program.
The Old Enough to Save Lives program is a community service project developed by the American Red Cross to introduce children to the importance of donating blood. The program encourages students to volunteer at the blood drive and invite parents, guardians and other adults to give blood on their behalf.
The BWMS goal is to have 50 units given on that day; and anyone who donates will also receive a coupon for a free hot chocolate from Tim Horton’s and be entered to win free groceries for a year from Kroger’s.
Each student who invites an adult to donate will be recognized as a Hero and will receive an American Red Cross thank you gift. If a parent has more than one child in the school, each student will be recognized.
Big Walnut Middle School Student Council is composed of Seventh Grade members Madi Bragalone, Kaleb Bryant, Olivia Chiles, Brandt Ebright, Andrea Evans, Cody Falk, Shelby Farabee, Rebecca Fitch, Nate Grunewald, Emma Krietemeyer, Kaitlin Meade, Bailey Munday, Meredith Oliva, Mary Palue, Taylor Renner, Katarina Robitaille, and Nicole Thomas; and Eighth Grade members Bradyn Anderson, Aubrey Bartman, Alex Brehm, Adam Burdge, Ali Carter, Mariah Chattos, Mitchell Cholley, Dominic Chumley, TJ Coates, Eric Cothern, Jared Deel, Avery DeVol, LeighAnne Ford, Julie Foreman, Caroline Gose, Kiersten Grumbling, Marisa Hageman, Jacob Howard, Carrie Kletrovetz, Kelly Kreager, Abbie Myers, Nick Schulz, Nicole Sena, Sandy Smith, Jett Walls, Macy Watkins and Alyssa Zumpone.
