Larry Harris Willow Brook CEO lauded as Healthcare Leader
Larry Harris, CEO of Willow Brook Christian Communities, was featured in the January 18 issue of Columbus Business First as one of the “20 People to Know in the Health Care Industry” in Central Ohio, Harris, who also serves as the Board President of the Council for Older Adults was selected to be interviewed by the publication because of his leadership in the long term care industry and the community.
Harris holds a B.A in Business Administration from Harding University in Arkansas and has been with Willow Brook since 1976. He has overseen the construction of two local continuing care retirement communities in the city of Delaware — Willow Brook Christian Village located off U.S. 23, just south of Delaware, which opened in the mid 1990s, and Willow Brook at Delaware Run, located off West William Street, which opened in 2009.
Harris has served on a number of boards including the Association of Ohio Philanthropic Homes, Housing, and Services for the Aging as well as the Christian Senior Services Association. Harris has also served as a guest lecturer for the Ohio State University as well as other organizations. Harris, now is his second year as board president the Council for Older Adults, served as vice president in 2011 and as treasurer in 2010.
The Council for Older Adults is a local nonprofit organization responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and providing services for older adults and their families in Delaware County. Among the Council’s services are the county-wide Meals On Wheels program and Senior Choices, a program that provides comprehensive care management and in-home services. Services provided by the Council are made possible, in part, by funding through our local senior services levy.
