He has overseen the construction of two local continuing care retirement communities in the city of Delaware — Willow Brook Christian Village located off U.S. 23, just south of Delaware, which opened in the mid 1990s, and Willow Brook at Delaware Run, located off West William Street, which opened in 2009.

Harris has served on a number of boards including the Association of Ohio Philanthropic Homes, Housing, and Services for the Aging as well as the Christian Senior Services Association. Harris, now is his second year as board president the Council for Older Adults, served as vice president in 2011 and as treasurer in 2010.

The Council for Older Adults is a local nonprofit organization responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and providing services for older adults and their families in Delaware County. Among the Council’s services are the county-wide Meals On Wheels program and Senior Choices, a program that provides comprehensive care management and in-home services. Services provided by the Council are made possible, in part, by funding through our local senior services levy.
