There was a book signing in the Big Walnut High School Media Center last week, but the author didn’t have to be flown in from New York, LA or some other distant and exotic location; she had to be excused from class.

The author is 16-year-old Big Walnut junior Sarah Stefaniak, who wrote My Supplier, a 358-page novel set in 2038 about a society that raises personal organ donors for elite citizens.

My Supplier, a Tate Publishing venture, has a May 7 official release date, but Stefaniak has advance copies for sale and has been scheduling book signings.

During last week’s book signing Stefaniak shared her writing experiences and advice with students in four classes and also about 25 students who dropped in during their spare time to visit with the young and emerging author.

It was a productive book signing session, with Stefaniak selling about 30 autographed copies of My Supplier.

Stefaniak, who wants to become a screenwriter, said My Supplier is book one of a trilogy.

Stefaniak will be signing copies of My Supplier on Saturday, March 16 at Community Library in Sunbury.
