Katie’s 1st Relay Flea Market April 19 & 20

The Amer­i­can Can­cer Society’s Big Wal­nut Area Relay For Life begins on Fri­day evening, June 7, at Big Wal­nut High School; but area teams are already busy orga­niz­ing and rais­ing funds to help reach this year’s local goal.

Katie Cautela, owner of Katie’s Kloset on the Square, is hold­ing Katie’s Kloset Fundrais­ing Team Event, a First Annual Flea Mar­ket with Bake Sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fri­day, April 19, and Sat­ur­day April 20 inside Sun­bury Town Hall.

For those of us who love the gar­den, this is undoubt­edly the most excit­ing time of the year. Our land­scape under­goes a mag­nif­i­cent trans­for­ma­tion seem­ingly in the blink of an eye.

Serenity gardens

I began my quest for seren­ity in my gar­den more than 25 years ago. Con­sen­sus deemed me a “Type A” per­son­al­ity and just a lit­tle bit high-strung, except when I worked in the yard. Even when I cut the grass I found a peace came over me. I am not very good a relax­ing so this was a real rev­e­la­tion for me. Over the years I have incor­po­rated dif­fer­ent ameni­ties that add to the ambi­ence in my gar­den. You can cre­ate a spe­cial place all your own.
