During Monday evening’s Big Walnut Local School District Board of Education meeting, district treasurer Felicia Drummey presented the latest five-year forecast for board approval. Drummey described the five-year forecast as a management tool, a way to identify events that could occur, and also as a strategic planning a device.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has named Big Walnut High School seniors Lindsey Adams, Thomas Pendley, Lucas Miller and Nicole Walters as Commended Students in the 2012–13 school year National Merit Scholarship Program.

Last Wednesday (August 22) was the first day of school for students living in the Big Walnut Local School District. But for district fifth and sixth grade students it was more than the start of a new school year; it was the inaugural day of the district’s new Big Walnut Intermediate School.
