The Sunbury Galena Rotary Club launched their 5th annual Duck Race in Big Walnut Creek Aug. 24 from Rufner Park in Galena.

Approximately 320 little ducks floated their hearts out while reaching speeds of snails and caterpillars. When the bugs cleared at the finish line Olivia St. Amant’s duck won the $1,000 first prize. Allison Martin’s duck finished second and won $300. Third place and $100 went to Mary Beth Slater. Fourth place and $100 went to Fran Veverka.

The Sunbury Galena Rotary Club extended a “thank you” to everyone who supported this fundraiser.

Funds raised are used to support community projects and provide scholarships for residents and students in the Sunbury-Galena communities. The Sunbury Galena Rotary Club meets every Tuesday morning at 7:30 am in the first floor meeting room on the square in Sunbury.
