Summer Reading Grand Prize Drawings

The Summer Reading Club grand prize drawing will be held in private Monday, July 27.

The drawing will be witnessed by multiple Community Library staff members to ensure fairness and the validity of the drawing.

The prize winners will be notified by phone. The names (first name and last initial) will be posted on the library’s Facebook page, after the prize winners have been contacted.

A special thanks to these organizations for their support! Saturday, July 25, is the LAST DAY of Summer Reading Club!

Super Yogis

July 6, 13, 20 and 27th, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for ages 7 to10. Have fun with yoga through stories and games with licensed instructor Laura Coulson. Bring a yoga mat and water bottle.

Registration is required. Cost: $25 for four sessions.

The Lorax

Monday July 13, 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., for ages four and up. Help tell the story of the Lorax through flannelboard and learn how to be a hero for our environment as the tale unfolds. Presented by the Delaware Soil and Water Conservation District.

Registration is required. Cost: FREE

Olympic Animal Heroes

Tuesday, July 14th, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. For ages five and up. Join Preservation Parks for a fun look at animal Olympians’ heroic feats. Through fun activities we’ll learn which animal would win in events like the long jump, weightlifting and more.

Teens Draw: Manga

Thursday, July 22, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. For ages 12 to 18. Learn the fundamentals of Manga and then put them all together to create your own character!

Registration is required. Cost: FREE

Superman Science

Thursday, July 23, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. For all ages. Superman needs a few things to help him in flight — four to be exact! Learn about the four forces of flight and make your own paper flying machine to test in a traveling wind tunnel!

Wrap Up Party! : Superhero Show!

Saturday, August 1, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. For all ages. It’s all things superhero, starting with a mini-museum with items like Thor’s Helmet and Spider-Man’s mask and then a great show complete with interactive superpower “tests” and more!

No registration. Cost: FREE
