Valentine’s Day comes only once each year, and once each year for the past several years, Big Walnut area residents have enjoyed a Valentine’s Day celebration at Community Library’s Library Lover’s Ball.
The name has changed to Library Lover’s Nite, and this year’s event, hosted by Community Library Friends, is scheduled for this Saturday (February 1) from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.; and the event remains a family oriented evening complete with music, dancing, games and prizes.
“Community Library celebrates Library Lovers’ Month in February,” said Community Library director Chauncey Montgomery. “The library dedicates the month to showing appreciation to the community for all its support for the library.
“Library Lovers’ Nite is a special event for us,” Montgomery continued. “I like the idea that we can host a family-friendly evening for the entire community to enjoy. It creates just one more venue for people to get together, which I think helps build our local identity, strengthening the fabric of the Big Walnut community.”
Montgomery said this year marks the 12th year of the event and everyone in the greater Big Walnut community is invited. Out of town guests? No problem. Bring them along, Montgomery said.
There is no charge for admission; and don’t plan on leaving at exactly 9 p.m., traditionally, guests linger for a bit of last minute conversation, snacking and dancing.
