Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood; more than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day. A total of 30 million blood components are transfused each year in the U.S., and the average red blood cell transfusion takes approximately three pints of whole blood.

Because of the constant need for blood, and the approaching summer months when blood supplies are in greater demand, members of Sunbury United Methodist Church will hold an American Red Cross Blood Drive from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, June 13).

To schedule an appointment to donate blood during tomorrow’s ARC/SUMC Blood Drive go to < redcrossblood.org/centralohio > and type Sunbury’s ZIP Code — 43074 — in the Find a Blood Drive box. Scroll down to the SUMC Blood Drive and click Schedule an Appointment.

As always, walk-ins are welcome, through the wait time might be a bit longer without an appointment.

Sunbury United Methodist Church is located at 100 West Cherry Street in Sunbury.
