Elyse Schnabel, Galena, plans to attend Millikin University and play soccer for Big Blue head coach Emily Johnson. An Honor Roll student at Big Walnut High School, Schnabel plans to study in Millikin’s Pre-Physician’s Assistant Program.
“Elyse is a very versatile player, she has the ability to play in the midfield and the backfield … she will be an asset to our team,” said Johnson who continues to add to a talented recruiting class, joining Millikin’s strong returning players in building a strong women’s soccer tradition for the Big Blue.
Schnabel earned four varsity letters in soccer for the Golden Eagles at Big Walnut, serving as a team captain her senior season and winning the coveted Golden Eagle award for academics and athletics. She has also played club soccer for the Blast and Classic Eagles.
At Big Walnut, Schnabel is a member of the National Honor Society, German Honors Society, Social Studies Honor Society, Mathematics Honors Society and the National Arts Honor Society.
